Pinocchio Park – Long before Walt Disney, Pinocchio was a popular story in Italy, written by Carlo Collodi (pseudonym for Carlo Lorenzini) in 1881, and serialized in a children's newspaper. Younger kids will love the charming, old-fashioned Pinocchio Park in the small town of Collodi, near Florence. The park has statues and fountains of all the Pinocchio characters, and a delightful puppet show with all the familiar characters. (Never mind that the puppet show is in Italian.) |
