Prehistoric Gardens
Prehistoric Gardens – You can’t miss the Prehistoric Gardens with a large T-Rex sculpture out front. Wander through the land before time, mossy trees, large leafy ferns, bubbling streams, at every turn are re-constructions of all your favorite dinosaurs – Ankylosaurus, Stegosaurus, Pteranodon, Trachodon, even a baby Triceratops hatching out of an egg. Fun for younger kids, the coastal forest is perfect to explore dinosaurs in a prehistoric setting. The gardens are located south of Port Orford on Highway 101.
Cape Blanco – Take a tour of the Cape Blanco Lighthouse (April to October, Thursday to Monday). The lighthouse, built in 1870, is still in operation today. Camp close the beach, hiking trails and a long flat sand beach with lots of driftwood.
