Mother's Beach (Admiralty Way and Via Marina) – Mother's
Beach (also called Marina Beach) is ideal if you have young children.
A protected lagoon with safe swimming area for kids, lifeguard, large
playground with a boat climbing structure, swings, tire swings, picnic
tables. |

 Rent
bikes and skates at the shop next to the parking lot at Mother's Beach.
It's easy biking around Marina del Rey – go around to Fisherman's Village
or head out Via Marina to the North Jetty Promenade. |

Fisherman's Village (Fiji Way) – Get a bite to eat or just
stroll along the water, watch the boats sailing in and out of the the
harbor. Pelicans are always in residence along with fisherman on the docks.
Feel like getting out on the water? Rent boats – motor boats,
electric boats, sail boats, and pedal boats. Fisherman's Village is the
perfect location to view fireworks on the 4th of July, or the Christmas
boat parade. |

Whale watching or harbor cruises – January to
April, take a whale watching boat to check out the gray whales on migration.
You can pick up harbor cruises at Just Fun Stuff Tours (Fisherman's Village)
and whale watching boats at Marina del Rey Sportfishing (Dock 52). |

Sportfishing – Take a half day or
3/4 day trip to fish for halibut, yellowtail, bonita and bass. No experience
is necessary, and kids will love to reel in the big fish. Pick up boats
at Dock 52. |

Watch the boats go by – The best place
for kids to see all the boats sailing in and out is the promenade along
the north side of the harbor. (Take Via Marina or Pacific Ave. until it
dead ends at the channel.) Paved walkways all the way to the jetty at the
entrance to the harbor. |
