Mann's
Chinese Theatre Walk in the footsteps of the famous at the Mann's
Chinese Theatre. Everyone loves comparing feet with Harrison Ford, Shirley
Temple, Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, and Star Wars' R2D2 or C3PO. |

But
don't just stay outside: The theater is worth exploring, with its
huge dragon winding across the front and two huge Chinese stylized dogs
at the entrance. The lobby is wonderfully ornate: Asian murals, statues,
gongs and tons of red and gold decor. Inside, there are several screens
(the main theatre holds over 2,000) showing whatever's the latest movie. |

El
Capitan Theatre Across the street from Mann's is the El Capitan Theatre,
owned by Disney. The theatre is stunningly beautiful, with hand painted
wall murals and incredible detail everywhere. If you only have time to catch
one kids' movie, go here. Featuring Disney/ Touchstone releases (new and
classic), you get a lot more than the movie: ushers in gold braid seat you
while a live organist plays movie scores. Before the film, you get a live
show, featuring Disney characters. Don't miss the display of Disney memorabilia
downstairs from the lobby. |

built in 1922, the heyday of grand movie palaces and took its Egyptian theme
from King Tut's tomb (discovered that year). Recently, it's been renovated
to recapture that elegance, with the the best in current technology. Tour
the theater, and get a backstage look at this legendary movie palace. |

Bunny (7000 block) within a few feet of each other? And, don't forget Thomas
Edison (6700 block), the inventor of the motion picture camera. |

Homes
of the Stars Depending on how crazy you are about celebrities, you might want to take
a tour. There are bus tours lasting up to two hours where you're
driven by both past and present "star" homes and there are trolley
tours that drive you past local sites. But for just a buck or so, you
can buy a "Map to the Homes of the Stars" and make your
