    Summer is almost here.
Planning to visit US national parks this summer, be sure to check in advance for any day-use reservations and timed entry. Read our blog post: Day-use Reservations for National Parks - Summer 2024
For any travel at any season, make backup plans. In past year, Eurostar between London and Paris was closed due to flooding, all Munich flights canceled for heavy snow, US Midwest and East Coast flights grounded for wildfire smoke from Canada.
If you have connecting flights, research hotels near the airport in advance, in case you are stuck overnight. Read blog post below "Stay overnight at the airport."
Be sure to have your airline app for notifications and changes in your plane schedule, and family carry-on bags with everything you need, in case flight is delayed.
Another essential app for live flight information is FlightAware.

Before and during your trip, check the weather conditions for your destination. In the United States, website weather.gov has most accurate information.

Also, check the NPS website or app for alerts.
2024 Yosemite National Park will require day-use reservations. However, if you stay at a hotel, vacation rental, campground in the park, day-used reservation is not required.
